Preserving folk traditions and its opportunities in kindergarten, developing personality by way of the values of the folk culture, getting to know the traditions of different peoples – this is what the three kindergartens wanted to achieve when they set their common goals. Also we got to know each other’ methods, hereby enriching our professional knowledge and experience. The project started in Hófehérke Kindergarten in 2010, when the educators met personally and agreed on the questions refferring to the common assignments.. This is when we created our blog. According to the plan during the project the first meeting was followed by other two at the other partner institutions when their turn came. In the course of the project all the three institutions organized programmes for children which were based on preserving folk traditions. In the first year the children got aquantied with traditions related to festivals, folk costumes and folk crafts. We organized field trips, craft activities, exhibitions and we visited museums. In the meantime we continually kept our partners, children’s parents, the local community informed on our blog and in the local media. The second meeting took place in Csicsergő Kindergarten in 2011. Here we gave a presentation on the activities we had carried out until then, discussed our further tasks. We actively took part in the activities regarding preserving traditions during which we got aquainted with the local folk traditions. At the press conference we summarized the goals and the outcomes of this collaboration. In the second year we focused on children folclore. The children got acquainted with the children’s rhymes and ditties, sayings, counting-out rhymes and games related to festivals, holidays and natural phenomena. The last meeting was organized in Sunne, Sweden, where we got an inside view of another educational system We took part in a series of open air activities, and we summarized the outcome of the project.
